Not a very extensive article, but very interesting nonetheless. My DREAM would be to be able to purchase small farm-raised S. giganteas. (Scroll to bottom of article for the two paragraphs on breeding S. gigantea)

I wonder how many people go to Oahu any more? I enjoyed the aquarium as well - the part we liked the best was the big shark pens outside. They had some BIG sharks in there, and I kept having visions of falling in! :)

Most flights stop there, but many folks hop the locals to Maui/Big Island/etc. Folks don't know what they are missing, I lived on Oahu for years and still never made it to all the unique spots.

I've lived on O'ahu for about 8 years ;0) I do miss it......but after awhile...you see everything...and over and ove ;) not that I don't miss the beach.

What part of O'ahu Scott? I lived in Kapahulu for a year or so right by Leonard's malasadas, and the rest in Kailua/Aikahi.

Best,
Ilham

Last four times I have been to Hawaii (the state) I have flown direct to one of the other islands. Used to be you HAD to fly direct to Oahu; now you can fly to Maui, Hawaii, Kauai, etc, directly from LA. I haven't been to Oahu in ten years. We'll be going to Kauai in three months - I can't wait.

Lived just off Kapahulu for a few years, and just about everywhere else Diamond Head of the Airport ;>) While in Kapahulu, I was walking distance to Leonard's and one of my favorite restaurants, Irifune :)

PS: and to get back on topic, Kapahulu is short walk to the Waikiki Aquarium :D
