it's not unusual for anemones to go for a walk but IME/IMO it's rare for a healthy happy gigantea to take a stroll....
which leads me to believe it wasn't happy.... and it wasn't.
I have my controller set to turn off (heat producing) halides when the water goes above 84F and that's what happened yesterday. My gigantea LOVES light... so once the halides turned off it went for a gander looking for some. It sensed a rock stack next to it's perch and bridged the rock gap so it's now on another coral bommie.
If you know much about anemones, gigantea behaves very much like a magnifica in this rock perch/pedestal thing. Both species LOVE as much light as possible and they'll take a walk to get more. They'll even climb a side of aquarium glass!
I'm going to try and minimalize collateral damage. Not my idea of fun. Maybe it's a good thing I'm going nowhere this holiday.
