SaraB's 268 Gallon Build¦ Try #3!

That would be Reefthreads.com. Gary and I have done 8 podcasts so far and we pull reefing topics off of various forums, like Reef Central, and discuss them. We are just having fun and we hope people find us, like it and keep on listening.
Very cool Sara, I'll try to catch up ASAP and will definitely be a regular listener

Here's another shot of the firefish from Gary

Very nice Sara. I have been wanting to add a few Basslets, but don't think I'll see them in the 270 very often.

Thanks for the compliments on Gary's photos!!!

I agree you may not see them very often, so make them cheaper versions ;) My pair are always out, but they don't have any bold tank mates to intimidate them either ... it's just the pair of firefish and a blue assessor in there with them currently.

Do chalk bass count as basslets? Because I have a trio of Chalk bass in my 220 that are out all the time.

Great picture of the cave basslet! Red fish (and corals) always seem a little harder to come by and always stand out more to me.

Yes, chalk bass are in the basslet family and are the Serranus variety. I like the Liopropoma variety myself with the Cave, Candy and Swissguards. Maybe try the Swissguards Brian? That way if they hide you won't feel as bad!

That cave basslet is awesome Sara. Aren't some of them semi-aggressive? I've been considering adding a Gramma melacara or a Liopropoma swalesi but am concerned that I would never see them out.

Thanks! I saw that semi-aggressive comment for their nature, but I have not seen that with my other fish. If I were you, I'd go for the Liopropoma swalesi!

Great photos.

Thanks, I'm only responsible for the subjects in the photos as Gary is the master behind the camera!

Beautiful as always, hows that cube coming along?

The cube is the only highlight of the entire system at this point with the zoas and ricordeas. I'm going to move some more zoa's in there and let it fill in. Those are great little tanks from Marineland!
