Schnitzel's Sticks

I thought you were a BK guy! Why the switch?

I think the 250 was too big for my system. I don't have very many fish. The BK was silent, that was its biggest plus. It ran ok, but never great. Def not $1300 great, that's for sure.
And Honestly after 24 hours of running this ATB, I am quickly becoming an ATB guy. The way it foams is way different than my BK, it's really impressive. The ATB is designed perfectly. Im not sold yet, I'm gunna give it a few more days.

Only down side so far to the ATB, is the noise. It's sucking SO much air, you can hear it from outside the stand. You couldn't hear my BK at all. But maybe because it was never sucking enough air.

I'm not sure which pump it is that atb uses.. they must mod it somehow or just the faceplate but I agree, it pulls air like a beast and produces serious foam. The downside is as you've noticed, the noise. Even with the silencer, it produces that hum.
I bet if you took a pop can, filled it loosely with filter wool and used that as a silencer, you could quiet it down a bit.

Yeah I'm sure the 250 was too big. I use a double cone 200 on my 240 with 30 fish and out doesn't even sweat to keep up with that load. They see way underrated.
But i almost pulled the trigger on an ATB before my BK. They mane great skimmers too.

My pump is an Askoll motor with ATB needle wheel and ATB volute. The pump itself is silent. I've considered modding it somehow to get it a little quieter. But honestly, I don't wanna mess it up. The way it's running right now is just amazing.

Yea my tank is 250g and I would consider light to medium bioload. I def have way more corals than I do fish. A 200 probably would have suited me better. So far I am super impressed with ATB.

Yauza!!!!! Amazing!!!!

My FTS never turn out that great. My tank is 8', so I have to stand back to get a FTS and it just never looks that great.

Most of the time I post pics like this. You can appreciate the coral a lot more.

T5s and Reefbrites. Calcium reactor. A TON of flow, and water changes every 2-3 months. That's basically all I do.

Amazing collection, I think I'm in love!

Thank you!!

How are you liking the ATB? It sure hasn't hurt your corals any!

Did you grow these from 1in frags?

Every coral in this tank was grown from a frag. The Majority of the corals were purchased from other hobbyists. I believe that is one of the reasons my tank looks so good. I bought corals that were already proven to thrive in a tank. Some of the ugliest acros I have were frags of wild pieces. They ended up being boring or just didn't do well in a tank. That's when I started only buying from hobbyists.

ATB is awesome. Hate to say it, but it's kicking my BKs butt. It foams all day every day. My BK was inconsistent.

Your acro's looking super happy and healthy, beautiful tank and great job

Much appreciated!!

Tank is looking sweet Nick! What would you say contributed most to your tanks success? I remember you were struggling with pale corals. I'll be setting up a 360g soon so any advice is much appreciated.
