Richard our club is really doing this for the community. By keeping expenses low, we are able to offer this event free of charge. The $ from the raffle is usually enough to cover food, table and chair rental, ect..... If the event continues to grow at this rate, we will be forced to make those considerations. Maybe expanding to somewhat of a marine conference like a mini version of MACNA, IMAC, ect.....

greg fyi. i was just kidding on that comment. i think the event going on is going to be great. it appears that you and others have put many hours in this. your dedication to the hobbie and helping others is awesome and you deserve props for that. i was making a comment on how much the promoters probably made at the other event at 25.00 each. i am more into free event unless there would be guest speakers and such. but then again you are having some there. very nice. props to the scmas group for putting this on.

They probably lost money, broke even, or came close to it. No joke - renting space, liability insurance policies and other requirements add up fast.

Hey everyone, I have some items that I would like to sell since I am no longer setting up my tank.

purchased from Brian Koyama 2wks ago-wont be using it!
7month old PFO 250W Dual Pulse Start SE Ballast
2x250w PFOse horizontal mogular based(one is Brand new, still in the factory box and the other was used for the past 4 months on a 4hr a day cycle.) I only used one pendant and switched between the two sockets on the ballast every other week. Included is two 250w 10k SE Iridius bulbs that I bought from Passion of the Seas. Again, one is Brand new in the factory box, the other has been used 4mos/4hrs a day. Comes with all original wiring, so it's pretty much plug and play.

For this time only, you can pick up your will call on this Frag Swap Saturday, but you will have to place your order on FRIDAY AUGUST 18th no later than 3 p.m. You can then let someone from our booth know that you have placed an order and we can retrieve the order for you. You will not be able to place orders on the same day (Saturday) for pick up.

This thread doesn't deserve to be at the bottom of page 2, so here's my story.................

The wifey & I made reservations last July for a houseboat trip this August. Now mind you, I missed the best frag swap of the year cuz I was getting married that day. I see the RAP date & I'll be damned, it's on the same day that my houseboat trip ends. I'm thinking, can I get from Lake Mead to Anaheim on Saturday morning & still have the energy to go??? Wifey says "Honey, we'll just go back on Friday night." I'm like "Are you kidding????" She says "No, I already heard enough crap about you missing the last one. I'm not gonna hear about it 'til next year, so we'll go back early."
