So I've decided to undertake a small scale breeding operation in the second bedroom of my apartment. After doing some math it's obvious that this will not be a money making deal. But what's the price of experience right? So we're taking it slow and thought you guys would have some input on my build.

The measurements of the room look like this. Kinda rough, still learning sketchup

Im thinking 2 20g tall, 2 larval rearing tubs, and 4 55g grow outs. Any ideas?

i would like to centralize all the tanks. I have no idea how I'm going to do so. I'm thinking there will have to be two stands one for brood stock/larval tanks and one for grow out. maybe have the plumbing run against the wall between the two stands. all will be drilled with some contraption for easy tank removal. Just talked the land lord into another a/c unit just for that room (sitting on the floor in the pictures), this was a big deciding factor on whether this idea was a go or no go. Maybe have the sump sit against the wall in between the stands and have two returns splitting to the two stands?

was also wanting to drill the water holding tanks and add a ball valve and bulk heads so that I can just drain into 5gal buckets when needed. also adding a second float with inline shut off for the salt water. how does everyone else keep a constant salinity in holding tanks? make a batch and get mostly through it the make a new one or constantly add salt?

yeah, should be here for the next 3 years. then onto a house. had to pay to have my dog but said nothing about fish. I dont see a problem as long as the dehumidifiers are running. I'm also on the bottom floor.

That is called a bedroom? I would have a hard time putting a bed that I could sleep in in that space. Kinda cool you have a wash tub in there though. Were the closets originally meant to house a washing machine?

thats what Im guessing but by the ro tanks there's another door to the laundry room. luckily my brother in law has a plumbing company and hooked it up and I hope will help me with plumbing the tanks. I'm concerned about the carpet though. i figured it wouldn't be hard to pull it up but that be a little much for the landlord to handle if he was to stop by. I was also thinking of covering most of the carpet with a chair mat material.
