Scotty & Tammy's 4x4x2 SPS tank

Hi guys, thank u all for the comments they are much appreciated:)ill also give you some details about my tank.
The tank is now 10 months old, all livestock and LR were brought over from our previous tank with some new additions of course.
TANK- 4x4x2 and sump is 4x20x18 LIGHT-2 ATI 8x54w Powermodules that run full for 7hrs and actinics 9hrs
FLOW-2 Tunze 6205s running off a 7096 multicontroller
SKIMMER-Bubble King Supermarin 200
return and Feed pumps are Bubble Blaster 7000 and 5000
Vertex Libra doser, Shcego 600w heater,DeBary 25w UV,2 TLF 550 reactors 1 Rowaphos and 1 Rowacarbon,I run a refugium with just a couple of pieces of LR and caulerpa that run the same hours as my main lights and a Tunze 3155 ATO. I only dose ALK,CAL,MAG and occasionally potassium when needed. I use ASW and do a 200L WC every week using Red Sea blue bucket salt and my water parameters are as follows-

ALK-7.4
CAL-390
MAG-1400
NO3-.10
PO4-0.05
K-400
Ive tried to keep my tank as user friendly as possible and always been a big believer in stability and ive stuck with that theory and seems to be working for me.
Sorry about the long post Scotty :)

Thanks sahin :)
At the moment im running all ATI globes but recently went away from aquablue special ans swapped to coral plus which is working well. AT the moment im running 6 x coral+, 6 x blue+,2 x actinic and 2 x purple+. The corals seem to be loving it so will be sticking with that combo

Hello and what a beautiful aquarium you have there. Do you feed your Sps at all and if so what and how often?

Thank you trueblackpercula :) no i dont feed my SPS but i do feed alot of smaller frozen food for my anthias i.e fish eggs, lobster eggs and red plankton twice a day along with some dry food for my tangs. I've never really seen any need as everything is growing and colouring well so I just think stick to whats working :)

That is a stunning tank! Are all those corals from frags going back just 2 years? If they are then I'm really jealous. Nice results!

Thanks ReefKeeper64 but 95% of my corals are wild colonies as in Australia there is not a big aquacultured market and would only say 5% of the market is aquacultured. I am still getting really good growth once the coral settles in though

That's interesting. Where do you get your wild colonies from? Do you find them yourself while diving the great barrier reef or are coral colonies sold at your LFS at affordable prices? We commonly pay $20-50 per 1" frag in the US for SPS and we hardly ever see colonies for sale.

Everything looks nice and healthy. Well done!

You guys and gals in Aussie have it made. Just out of curiosity what do they charge
for lets say a 6" to 8" blue stag?

We are lucky in that respect trueblackprcula. The charge for that coral would be round the $50aus mark depending where you shop but i must admit wild blue stag is one of the hardest SPS to get to hold colour when brought in from the wild believe it or not! you might get 10 that stay brown and 1 that holds colour. I have mates that still have not found that 1 piece and they have been reefing for longer than me :)

Really beautiful display mate, love the rock scape and acro placement. You two should both be very proud. I always caution reefers who's partners show real interest in the tank goings on - watch her close........ watch her real close mate - it's not normal i tell ya. :D

I live a long way from the Great Barrier Reef and you are not allowed to collect coral anywhere in Australia without the proper license. We buy from all our corals from our LFS that buy direct from the collecters themselves and SPS is very well priced here :)

Thanks guys my 14yo son made the video and did a great job hes very proud of it as am I of him. As for the scape and acro placement ive tried to keep everything looking as natural as i possibly can and taken into account how each coral will grow to give them some room to do there thing and the Mrs loves it just as much as i do so im pretty safe she calls it her tank but we all know whos it really is hahaha

shakeeb i only dose ALK,CAL,MAG and Potassium when its needed :)
