September Collecting Trip!

Chuck...thanks for the info....

I will probably make use of my family membership to put my roomate to work.

are you picking up dry ice sat morning?

what are you using for spearing? and what are you spearing?

the silversides just get caught in the net correct? I could definitely use them for my snowflake.

thanks.....

It's one big seining net. Hand nets won't do you any good.

melenie,
sorry I was using sport fishing jargon when I called silversides, spearing they are one of the same (Menidia menidia).

as for the dry ice I hope the place is open that early sat. If not i'll try to get someone to pick it up on friday.. You don't need it but I was just trying out an idea.

If someone catches a small northern puffer or a box fish, let me know (if you want to part with them). Willing to pay for em.

Where are you guys finding these butterflies? I have snorkled all the way from atlantic beach to long beach and I never see any just spairing

here is a preview to what we may catch. I've caught these scuba diving.

i'm assuming it is maybe someone can tell us a species name. where's todd gardner?

I was not aware some tropicals made it up to the sound, I caught a few butterflies up there. I also swam up on a HUGE southern stingray. scared the cr*p out of me. enourmous wingspan and it tail was much long than me.

wow, i guess you gotta be careful out there...after the irwin incident, sting rays can be pretty dangerous when spooked.

those are some great catche, btw.

Steve Irwin was the 17th person in recorded history (2,000 years) to be killed by a Stingray.
It was a freak accident, and you have much better chances of winning the lottery than being killed by a Stingray.

So what are the water conditions like with the storm that just passed? Is the storm that is still brewing in the south expected to churn things up at all?

You also have a much better chance of being killed by simply slipping in your shower :eek2:
