Setting up a 180

Just a few updates, my GBTA has died It was almost split but the 2 clowns kept picking at it and biting it's tentacles. I tried to move it but they kept finding it. My RBTA is still small and the clowns tend to leave it alone...except at feeding time; I have to guard it until it fully consumes what it's been fed. The clowns will pick the food right out of it's mouth if I don't.

My blue hippo tang still has white spots occasionally but gets cleaned by the cleaner shrimp. She eats like crazy and never rubs her sides on the rocks so she must not be too bothered by it.

Current project: Converting a seaclone 100 into a phosphate reactor using Rowaphos. I have to wait until next week to finish it, I need to make an acrylic disk for a bottom plate to help diffuse the flow.


My blue tip acro has been growing new branches over the last month and has full polyp extension every night..it actually looks fuzzy

I feel like I've turned the corner in sps care and now can start adding more sps frags.

Sorry to hear about your GBTA My clowns will do the same thing when I try to feed my sun corals. They do not bother my RBTA.

There is a forever splitting RBTA that a member of our reef club has as well as several other members who have splitting RBTA'S from the first split.....did that made sense

I am hoping there will be one of those available to me in the future...one big enough to appease the BTA bothering clowns.:mixed:

My sps frag wish list...Purple monti cap, purple polyp pink birdsnest and a tri-color acro.

Maybe some various colored zoos as well, I seem to have become fascinated with zoos lately My dragon eye zooz have been multiplying and they look so cool.

My next reef club meeting will be having a misc. frag swap, my blue with green mouth ricordia has now become a total of three so I am going to take one of them along to trade. Hopefully I can get some zoos for it

Well Hello again....Some updates to report.
I bought a carpet anemone about a week ago and took some
pictures of it today

The maroon clowns have yet to venture to it yet but hopefully soon.

I did not get to the last Reef club meeting( I was sick )
so no new frags yet. Hopefully while at the March reef club meeting I will have an opportunity to get some nice frags

Made use of and old seaclone...

Added some ROWAphos....

and placed it in my sump...

Last week one of the clowns went into my carpet anemone...

And then the carpet decided to move and after rearranging...

The other clown decided to move in...and kick out the other
clown

But the anemone looks like its getting bigger

Montipora digitata has really grown...

even got a couple of frags....

Several little additions have shown up....

I can't tell if they are cerith snails but I think they are.

I like that Monti! I've been really getting into the different kinds of Monti's lately.

I like it too, although my wife says it's so creepy looking. I am not sure if anyone here will trade for it...everyone here already seems to have plenty of brown polyp monti's.

They are very hardy and seem to grow faster than my other sps corals.

Looking good! The fish look fat and happy lol. I saw those carpets... I thought about getting one too but just too big for my tank. How is it doing for you?

Within the last month I lost a blenny due to jumping (I since made a top), a tuxedo urchin to some villainous invert :mad2:

I am in search of a purple monti cap, pink with purple polyp birdsnest, blue tip acro and bright colorful zoas. Also another Sailfin blenny, copper banded butter fly or naso tang or purple tang.

Whew....That took awhile

Thats no problem NG Sometimes I don't get emailed who responds to my subscribed sites. The list is long....so it seems, but most corals are still on the small size in a 180.

I am going to Fosters and smith this month and hope to find some of my wanted coral's and fish.

This weekend was a bit rough, I bought 2 sailfin blennies Saturday morning had them in the tank about an hour and a half later and all looked good.
I went to take my daughter to a friends house and later when I got back I could only find 1 blenny that was up by the overflow and it had a chunk bitten out of it's top fin:mad2:

I watched in horror as the 2 spot started to chased it around the tank until the blenny jumped out of the tank and on the floor in front of me....I picked it up and quickly put it back in the tank. It hit the floor with a thud and I thought it was doomed. There is only an opening where the MH is and blenny found it

Needless to say, it was a bad idea to think a 2 spot would not be a problem upon getting bigger...I was not going to loose any more fish because of it so I removed him.

Sunday the 3 line damsel started chasing the blenny around....so I took him out as well....Both damsels were given to a lfs in the area.

I wanted to take them back when I took down my sons 20gl but my wife would not let me. She did this time with her blessing....But we both felt bad knowing that they only are following their instinct.

The other blenny has still not been found...On a good note, Blenny 1 of 2 is still doing well and eating like crazy!!! He has so much personality...In fact all remaining fish are all over the tank, no longer afraid to venture out.

i was hoping to see that 3 stripe leave your tank i figured that it would become a problem and i thought you knew about them. i was right that u did know but you had help with your thoughts(i know how it is)
it sucks having a larger tank and smaller coral. waiting...waiting....waiting.....still waiting.........

I hope we can find some good deals at this months meeting Customcolor Waiting and waiting....If we wouldn't look at our tanks every morning and every night....would they be looking bigger

You know...I tried to tell my wife and kids not to get either of those 2 damsels but even though I knew better, they overruled me

But now I am in control of what goes in the tank......Well almost
