Shallow reef tank Club

Okay so I have been reviewing this thread for some time now. I really really like the shallow cubes and really want to pick one up (custom made, used...whatever!). Where are some good places to buy them or find them?? I live in Iowa, would be willing to drive within the state or surrounding (within reason).

Any help would be much appreciated!!

Anyone??

sorry, most are custom. Some brands to look into are Miracles in glass, AGE, leemar, and glass cages. For acrylic, I used Envision but there are more than just them.

Yeah I was def wanting to get an acrylic tank. Thanks for the info, I have looked into Envision. Any other suggestions?

Mine was built by TruVu but that's out here on the west coast near the bay area. I just ordered a coral flat and asked them to drill it, put in an external overflow and raise the waterline by 2 inches, so technically it's a custom tank I guess. They did a great job. I love acrylic due to its clarity and ability to retain its temp.

Looks like they have free shipping! I will look into them...thanks for the info!!

Thanks, :) it's a custom with ADA style silicone, haven't got the time to inspect the silicone job though.

Wow, no kidding? Mine was free as well, but I live like 45 miles or so from them so no big deal for them I guess. Shipping to you...well you're a bit further away :p Hopefully it is free and you can get a nice tank from them though. When I ordered mine they called me at least 3 times to verify certain things and even caught a screw up on my part regarding measurements for the over flows. Good luck.

I guess I spoke to soon, for some reason custom tanks are not included in the free shipping. Doesn't make much sense to me, but thats what the lady said. She was going to get back to me on a shipping quote. Thanks for the advice on a place, the quote for the tank was a lot cheaper than most!

Nice thread, Nice tanks

I'm thinking of joining the club soon.I just have a question about fish .

Do they jump out or do most of you cover them? I dont remember seeing them covered.

Did anybody experience a loss?

They make a lot of standard stock tanks around here as well similar to All Glass etc. Might be why they can offer stuff at better price. Good luck.

Mines covered with a fish drag net I found at K-Mart, mine goes over the lights so no light loss either. I still lost a bar goby due to leaving it open while doing some maintenance and walking out for like 15 minutes. Landed on my office chair and found him hours later :sad2: Down to 2 now.
