GEA if you are getting a tank built from acrylic the builder can do the overflow for you, XTM dont you agree that its better to have it done by the builder, as thick acrylic takes specialized tools to cut smoothly.

Of course!! Do it all in one shot if you can. Advanced Acrylics is a great reputable manufacturer.. also make sure you choose the correct bulkhead size for the amount of turnover you have. An extra overflow hole would also be nice (emergency drain).

You're off to a great start Gea.

Hey Joe,

My tank started off as a frag tank like that as well.... [/B]

Thanks everyone. There are some very nice setups here.

Saldarya I can't wait till I can set this one up to look nice. I think it will be close to a year before I will be able too.

Yours looks great. I love all the sps.

I hope to have clams some back ups of my best sps and Favia.

Keep up the good work guys.

Joe

Well guys, I go to put my deposit on my tank today. 3 sided starfire 1/2" glass 30x24x18. 18 is a little on the tall side for some of you guys here, but I still think it's shallow :)

It is not too late to have the waterline reduced to 16 inches and keep the18 inch sides so that you can have a big wave... also helps prevent fish jumping out.

my tank really should have been 16 inches tall with a 14 inch waterline.

It's a definite consideration. I haven't made any actual permanent decisions. I'll talk it over. Going over to Amazing Aquariums and Reefs for those of you in the SoCal area. Ali (the owner) has a dude who makes the tanks. All Ali's tanks are done by this guy and they're spectacular. Much like the Elos tanks, only cheaper :D. Beautiful stuff, I'm excited!!

Love it!

I'm in the planning stages of a 24x24x16 cube plumbed into the garage for sump area/fish room. I've been on leave from the hobby for 6 months and its killing me. I want all SPS with closed loop.

Any advice would be appreciated. I'd also like to find a quality builder without crazy prices if anyone knows someone. So far everone I've asked wants $800+ to build a 40g tank

The cheapest tank they have on their website is 24x30 and its $1300. Way out of my price range.
