Shallow reef tank Club

I see a couple people here were looking into or had purchased the 36x37x18 100 Gallon Rimless from Glass Cages.

Can anyone with that tank share their lighting situation and post a picture for me.

It's like pulling teeth trying to see a picture of this tank all set up lol.

I'm torn between an 8 Bulb ATI T5 Fixture, or the guys at Coralvue said I would also be able to use my existing 250 Watt Halide set up. (Lumenbrite Pendant, 250 watt HQI phoenix bulb, Icecap Elc. Ballast). They did say I would have to raise the pendant up a bit, but due to the shallow depth of the tank I would be fine with SPS all over the tank.

Any additional insight on the above info?

Update on my SRT project: switched from CF's to a 250w HQI 14k, switched from Euroreef CS80 to SWC 300a cone and started using NP biopellets. All of which has been beneficial. I am not totally sold on the skimmer yet though. Yes it's quiet but it puts out so much water I opened up the bottom of it like the SKIMZ skimmers to relieve some of the pressure and now it's working okay. I still can only get a light green skimmate out of it, maybe it's because it's rated for 300 gallons and this tank is only 80 gallons? Whatever..the water is clean and the SPS frags are growing so I can't complain too much. Here is a few pic's

Thanks for the photos. It does help out a bit in my situation.

The "problem" you are having with the skimmer is because it is so over sized for your system. The solution, fortunately for you, is easy....... FEED MORE lol. Once your bio pellets start to really kick in I have no doubt you will see a big increase in skimmer production as well.

I'm going to have the same problem. I'm using a MSX300, powered by 1 Sicce PSK2500 and 1 Bubbleblaster 3000. My skimmer would do a 600 gallon system just fine......... I'll have it running on a 125ish gallon system lol. (100 Gallon tank 40 gallon sump)

I have a 23 long 36x12x12 and a 70 cube 30x30x18. The 23 long is just starting to cycle. It's sumpless and skimmerless. The 70 cube is empty and in serious need of everything :).

I can finally join the club. 48x24x20 Just started the cycle and waiting for my vortechs and skimmer.

Darth Wader,

How much did that deep blue frag tank set-up cost? Ive seen prices for the tanks, but never the stand. Does it look sturdy?
