Shallow water Acros, post them here!

There's my green pocillopora, a purple with greep polyp monticulosa (rock is over 3" wide, and almost fully encrusted :spin3: ), and a 4" "fiji mint bushy acropora" It's pretty washed out in in the picture, and is more teal / mint in person. I dont have an accurate ID for it, but it might be a shallow water. Ill try to get a better pic of it tomorrow afternoon when the halides are on.

Nice pics everyone!

Edit: Added FTS with all lights on, pic taken 10/6/12.

I love this monticulosa, it's similar in color to a purple bonsai, but seems less picky. It's branches are short and wide, and I'm hoping after it finishes growing horizontally, that it will start to grow vertically. I wish I could fast forward a few years!

No kidding I am double bumping this thread, I love some nice nubby acros :). If you have one post it!

The tank I'm setting up now is going to be full of shallow water species. Got the tank long, wide and shallow just for this purpose. Glad to see I'm not the only one who has a thing for these species

this has been encrusting for about a year.. and im starting to get some upward growth on it and im happy! started as a brown $10 mrcoral frag. pic quality is nowhere near everyone else's but im trying! this is samoensis right?

Awesome color!!!! I'd love to find a piece like that!

A lot of these types get labeled with samoensis, but the reality is samoensis is pretty uncommon even in its natural range. Most of what is called samoensis is a thinner morphotype of A. humilis. I suspect yours is humilis. A very stunning one.

Definitely start a thread if you haven't already!

Clearly :)

I just came back and saw the EYE powered tank pick. Sweeet.
SPS frags were not sold at LFS's in my area back in the 90's and I had to travel to Tropicorium in Michigan for them. The Porites seen in pic came in on Marshall Islands rock I got from John Tullock and JR back in '93.
My how time flies :p

Definitely will be doing that. Building my stand now and just waiting for a few more deliveries to come in. I'm documenting everything and I'll put up a thread once I have the tank cycling.
