Should air leak from ev-180 seals

Hi peeps, im taking things really slow with the set upof my tank. I just got an Aqua C EV-180 and noticed that air is leaking from where the collection cup attaches to the main body and the lid of the collection cup. I have the seals on them. Does anyone know if this is normal for air to leak out? I baught this skimmer because of all the good reviews. It has'nt been producibg any dark skimmate. Its more of a light green color.
