Should I be overly concerned?

I have a new no stripe clown from ORA that I picked up saturday, yesterday morning (sunday) I noticed white spots all over the fish. Concerned as I had to leave town for the day I gave him a freshwater dip. When I returned home he seemed to be fine and was swimming around with the other clown. I believe that this may have been stress induced as the two clowns had been chasing each other around since quite a bit. They have seemed to become buddies since though. This morning he has been spending alot of time on the bottom of the tank, breathing what seems to be a little harder than usual, or at least harder than he should be. He also has a little bit of white "slime" on him. I blew him off with a turkey baster and it seemed to take care of a little but the photos below are after I did that.

I just want to see what everyone thinks so far. The other fish in the tank are doing great and seem to be trying to encourage him. The reason I didn't QT him is that I don't really have the room for it at the moment as I my sump is now where my qt tank was. Should I just keep feeding him zoe, garlic and selcon enriched foods and keep an eye on him or should I take him out and treat?

Thanks!
Adam

Well, my philosophy is ..... you should have a least a gameplan to place a fish in QT (whether this particular fish, or the next one). As we all know, wishful thinking will most certainly lead to non-action if one doesn't have the QT available and ready to go!!!!! Just my opinion!!

How is your water quality?

Do you have any corals in the tank?

Is the infected clown swimming up to the surface of the water?

Please respond quickly!

Looks like it could be Brooklynella..a series of formalin dips is the treatment. I would do the first dip and transfer him to a qt tank.

Brook can affect fish other than Clowns, though I am not sure it is necessary that they ALL be treated. I am also not sure of the lifecycle of this disease and whether it require a 'fallow' tank to kill it off..I have thankfully never dealt with it personally...Do a search on Brooklynella and see what you find out

Here are some photos for you to compare
