I'm gonna tape these pics to the tank next to my BTA and maybe my clowns will get inspired to host probabaly just a drunkin idea but who knows plus I wanna see some good pics of this anyway thx

It's very unlikely that your clowns will accept your BTA as a surrogate host. You've had them together for well over a year now without success.

The BTA (Entacmaea quadricolor) is not a natural host to either Percula clowns or Ocellaris clowns. In captivity, Ocellaris clowns will usually accept it as a surrogate host and Percula clowns will usually reject it.

If you have Percula clowns, a good choice would be a Sebae anemone (Heteractis crispa) as it's a natural host to that species.

:D

Instead of you using drunk ideas, why dont you give the clowns some alcohol and see if their drunk idea is to swim in that stinging tentacle thing. Make sure you get a random fish to yell out the idea in the background so they think its in their head.

Few shots of vodka during new years should do the trick, good luck :).

this isn’t really a "how to" thread I have pretty excepted that my clowns wont host, I posted this so I could see some nice pics of hobbyist that have had more "luck" with this than I have

Check out this thread, some beautiful pics of what you're looking for. It can take over a year for clowns to decide to host so don't give up hope

Those are some beautiful photos. All of those pictures, except one, show natural associations: A. percula and S. gigantea, A. polymnus and S. haddoni, and Heteractis magnifica and A. ocellaris are all natural associations. Macrodactyla doreensis and A. polymnus is not a natural pairing but saddleback clowns frequently accept other anemones in captivity as surrogate hosts.

When it comes to Entacmaea quadricolor (BTA) anemones, they are usually accepted as a surrogate host by A. ocellaris in captivity and usually rejected by A. percula. That's what you can expect to happen most of the time.

I was responding to chrisstie that time.

"Ocellaris Clownfish in a Magnifica Anemone."

You seem to have overlooked one little bitty important bit of information there. He didn't need a photo because that's a natural association! Those clowns were virtually guaranteed to accept that anemone anyway, it was just a matter of time.

:D

P.S. -- It might help others provide opinions or advice if you would tell us what you actually have: A. ocellaris or A. percula?

I am not asking you to fix my clowns not hosting problem I just want to see some pictures of a clown hosting in a BTA if you don’t have pics to share thats cool move on. I realize it doesn’t always happen. I get it, but it does happen for instance:
