oh ok... was very confusing, especially because it was 1) a bad picture that's very obscure, and 2) no explanation, too hopeful that the picture would suffice.

but I get it now. very nice drilled hole =)

Sorry for the "bad" picture, next time I'll try using some mood lighting to bring out the features.:lmao:

Thanks a lot. Good to know. I'm still not totally convinced that it can be drilled but Im a little more comfortable. If that a 60G tank? I think anything with 3/8 or up glass is tempered. How big it your tank? Can you post a full tank pic so I can see if it's like mine?

Thanks to all who have responded

Just to clarify, was that hole drilled in the bottom panel or a side panel?

I thought that Oceanic tempered the bottom but not the sides. Also, glass thicker then 3/8" can be bought either tempered or untempered.

OK. But, I think the same applies to most tanks. Certainly, you can't go by glass thickness to decide if the glass is tempered.

The tank is a 60g (24 x 24 x 24) cube. The glass measures 3/8" thick. Here is a full tank pic and the hole is drilled in the bottom.

reefer2005 thats exactly like mine. Thanks so much. I think that answers my questions. No HOT overflow! I really appreciate everyones replies. I was not going to get it drilled until I found some info on it. I was about to give up but though I'd try RC.

Thanks
Angela

And this is why I think some of the pictures arent 100%. The tank is horribly scratched.
