A couple years back I propogated a couple hundred rics to trade.

Awesome Jeff, why don't you start a post and give us a bit of info on what you have learned about propogating Rics, I know I would be interested.

There are a few posts buried around here about propogating rics but I'll give you some tips here:
* Cut the rics in 4 pieces with a clean/new razor blade
* Put the pieces in a shallow container with a mesh top attached to it and crushed coral on the bottom and place in low flow area
* Let sit 2 weeks and uncover
* The rics will have attached to the crushed coral and started to heal
* Glue the crushed coral that the ric attached to to a frag plug or rock ruble
* Place these in low/medium flow
* Let grow out and be patient

Beautiful pictures. I've always wanted to keep rics but afraid my lighting will be too much in my tank. (2 X 250 Watt Phoenix 14ks, 2 X 54 Watt T5 Purple Plus)

I don't im sorry, I sold the set up about a year ago. I am in the process of setting of a new 60 gallon rimmless tank. I kept those rics in a red seamax that I put a 250 phx 14k bulb on, they loved it.

This new tank I am going to use a Aqua Illumination Sol LED light. I will have to have some rics again, I love the look of those. I have a ton more pictures of them on that rock. I bought them all at one time and super glued them onto the rock. I think I got more glue on myself than the rics :spin1:

I just got them and glued them to the rock in this picture.

I was trying to save the rics from the rtba's sting with broken cd cases.

The CD cases sorta worked, the rbta always found away to sneak through. The rics did not like it touching them at all so I kept moving and adding more pieces.

So you bought it Mrbeachbum2. I have what I think are Ric but they only have one mouth and I get babies not spitting . Any thoughts if they are Ric or Yuma's

what kind of lighting do you guys have on these tanks. i have a few rics in my 220 its 30inches deep w 2 250wt MH and 400 wt of pc. the metal halides are only on for a few hours a day
