Wow that Acro was fighting for space at the start. No problems now I'm sure. What is that growth anomoly in the second pic? Did it just go away?

I've got respect for anybody that can keep sps alive but my preference is the look of a tank with a few large, mature colonies to a tank full of frags.

Everyone wants a big colony. The problem is if you can't keep a frag, then how are you going to keep a colony? Do you know how much a colony cost? that's money down the drain if you can't keep it alive.

Husky...I dont think he was implying that people go out and buy big colonies. We like to grow them....that is what the thread is about.

Nice growth shots everybody. Here is my ORA Red Planet when I first got it a year and a half ago.

Icic hehe misread it. Yah. I think I understand what he means now. Just get a few conlonies really big rather than having a bunch that fights for space. Me too I like that idea. I'd always liked reefbum's tank. It looks soooo nice. I do t think he has a lot if frags, but they are huge.

2 & 1/2 years growth, from 9-07 til now. Most of the colonies are where they originally started. The pink stylo has grown to softball size and been fragged to pretty much the size it is now twice. The Cali Tort has been fragged to half it's size once to try to get more branches. The Idaho grape gets a couple inches trimmed twice a year. I made a rookie mistake and thought 4 to 5 inches between frags was plenty. It is if you want all your corals to grow together. They are fighting for space big time.

Great pics!
Time goes by so fast can't believe two of mine are in college already.
The tank has grown out beautifully as well.
