show us your ultra monti

Here is the ultimate rainbow...I have a frag, but it hasn't colored up like this...yet. Mine is green base, orange polyp with blue growth ring.

That is the UWW Rainbow Sunburst Monti. Nice piece, I have it myself. Still havent got it to look quite like the above pic, though.

Can anyone tell me where I could score a frag of the rainbow monti the OP posted the pic of?

I agree that's a sweet coral, but everyone says that they can't get it to look like that image. I remember hearing rumors that the whole thing might be a fraud or hoax. It's such an amazing piece, but everything I've read about it say there have been problems getting color right.

Anyone got the facts or the downlow on this?

i cant get a closeup of mine..but here it is.pretty nice piece to me, although not as awesome as some of the other. i think its a tyree rainbow monti, but not 100% sure.

This is the frag when I first got it a few years ago.

This is the most recent pic I have of this coral. The monti will get a yellow base when moved into higher light.

I have lost most of this colony but it is making a comeback.

You have the hologram Monti too! I think the closer you bring to the light the greener the base goes from my experience;) I love that Monti.

It gets a pretty good amount of light where it is. The color hasn't been great since I added sand recently, so the tank is still adjusting. But yeah, it gets almost a yellow/green color to the skin. Very cool coral!!

Sorry, I was an idiot and decided to reorganize my Photobucket albums right after posting a pic.

This looks like my Anacropora. I do think there is a monti out there like this...Hispada, Hispadia (spelling=no idea) I had this Monti Hispa-something or other years ago, but it was thicker branching with white tips and bright green polyps. Cool knarly growth either way.
Yea I like the growth patern on this I also have one
I got one that looks like that ^^^^ Elkhorn Monti.
I think that it is a acropora as I have had one with AEFW & eggs on it.
but your right on the elkhorn

A friend of mine happend upon this Monti Cap helping a local hobbyist move his tank. Originally from an Indo trans-ship, it developed bright yellow polyps.
