show us your ultra monti

I also want a frag of that reverse sunset/rainbow coral. Reefpets has been selling frags of one that is similar.

Ryan if you weren't in Aussieland I'd tell you to mail those rainbow monti frags to me. ;p

I found a couple others of mine that I can post. I have 24-25 different montis. I love them.

Here is the ultimate rainbow...I have a frag, but it hasn't colored up like this...yet. Mine is green base, orange polyp with blue growth ring.

Ha ha nice one Ryan!

Those are CDU (Corals Downunder) Rainbow Monti frags. We discovered and are the only cultivars of the Rainbow Monti in Australia. I believe the original origination of the Rainbow Montipora Danae came from the Hawaiiain region.

:D

Cheers

Mr. Right, I'm not sure. It doesn't look like my confusa or spongodes. It has very thick columnar branches and very large polyps. Its in a league of its own I guess.

sorry mine are still baby frags and I am still working with my camera.

This is one of my favorite montis because of the unique 'half' polyps it has. This is from the mother colony I got the frag from and in 2-3 months has more than quadrupled!

I really need to get a rainbow monti too....I've got superman, sunset, and the hologram which is pictured.

mines actually the real orenji. had that one over two years. was the size of a pinky nail when i got it and has finaly rounded the plug and is growing on the rock. It's a painfully slow grower

mine is actually not that bad. i find that it prefers higher light. still took a year to double in size.... from the size of a dime... a local club member has a colony, and he said his took off after about a year or so of encrusting, then took off vertically

Good to know. Mine has about doubled in size in four months but is still rather small as the frag was small. Seems to be still encrusting and has a couple sprouts that could go vertical.

....Not fragging it anytime soon. Once I'm able to frag them it will be worth $10-$20 a frag:lolspin:

I had one of those CDU rainbows, beautiful !!

Got it from Dave (bubbleboy - RTAW), but left my tank under family supervisor.
And came home to a glass box of white sticks and reddy/orange goo.

Nam will be chasing you when my new system is up and running.
