Hi all, wondering anybody bold enough to keep angels.

I was abit worried initially but finally could not resist the temptation any longer.

Added a few large angels in my 400 Gallon tank.

That is beautiful! Please share a full tank shot! I love the angels too. I've got an imperator, pair of Watanabe's, Flame, a small Navarchus, and used to have a Red Sea Regal, but he only lasted 6 months :( I've been eyeing a small blue face but haven't had the guts to add him just yet.
Your tank is stunning! I am very jealous!
Here's a shot I took just before the Regal died.

i had a red sea regal do fine in my tank.. never nipped at anything.. sold it though.. now i have a coral beauty that does fine too..

My angel is just arriving at adult coloration....took almost 2 years. No trouble with SPS, many LPS, seems to have a taste for purple mushrooms but not ricordia.....

Mixed reef....about 75% sps. He (she ?) is doing well, every now and then will pick at a Zoa, otherwise prefers to eat what I feed instead of my corals or clam. (Only been in the tank for about 2 months, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Actually seems to pick at the Zoa's less as time goes by)

He couldn't stay out of this picture, probably thought I was going to feed him again :)

I just love the blue face angle any problems with him at all before i get one?

I believe most angels are reef safe. They may eat some corals initially. And it very much depends on you yourself as the tank master. If you do not feed them enough, they will go eat your corals.

I tried my angels initially with lots of pellets and mysis shrimps thrown at them. After they get used to your food, they somehow forget about what corals taste like.

Put it this way, if there are ready made food, who would want to eat corals and have to endure with those slime?

However, buying morphed angels are preferred as they will have better coloration in the open sea as compared to those morphed in an enclosed tank.

And over time, our pellets and other home made food may not be enough to maintain their vabriant colours as originally bought.

Maybe there are other better sponge-based food for them?
