i've only ever seen him carry around a few tiny pieces of shells or 1 or 2 polyps. he's outdone himself this time. i hope he decides to drop it where i can fish it out and glue it back! :rolleye1:

do you think he's packing up all his worldly belongings and thinking about running away? i would hate to see him go. he's really quite entertaining!

well, he dropped it way in the back of the tank where it is inaccessible to me. might try using a small power head to blast it around and see if it'll settle where i can get to it.

urchin is in a time out now.

You need planting tongs, the kind sold for freshwater tanks. Just reach in and pull it out.

I doubt the urchin will learn not to do that. Starfish don't have brains, and neither do urchins.

i have 2 pincushion urchins that grab things i wish they wouldn't. i've tried pulling stuff off of them w/o success.

so, you're saying they're all male?

sorry, couldn't resist! ;)

I love my urchins because they do the fragging of my zoas for me. I just gently pull them off and glue. They don't seem bothered by the "extraction" as long as you are gentle.

Lol nice. you saw a good joke there and took it. [emoji106]

I'd say you got yourself a interior designer just trying to upgrade the place that's all. Urchin saw no need for 2 of the same zooanthis haha

I got it out of the back and wedged it in a rock crevasse. Guess where it is...again!

My question would be, how'd he get it off the rock in the first place?

might have something to do with the tiny pickaxe i've seen him with. j/k...i fragged that zoa and apparently, i didn't use enough glue to secure it to the rock.

much like ralphie's dad and the furnace, this urchin has become my nemesis. i may let him win. could be interesting to see where this zoa ends up eventually.

I see why he likes it... they do that to hide from the light and to pretend they aren't there, so the better something covers their top, the better they like the thing.

got home from work and found the zoa stuck to the gyre. i glued it down to a rock so i don't think the urchin can uproot it again. he has tons of shells to cover himself with. they are such silly critters!

to quote ralphie's dad...I WON, I WON, I WON!!!
