In case anyone hasn't heard of this program yet. I saw someone else using google sketchup to design a sump. I got the program last week and I was bored this afternoon so I drew a detailed model of my tank/stand/light and I also added the pump. I'm going to do all the plumbing as well when I get some more energy. If anyone wants the models I made for a 40 Breeder , let me know and I'll upload them to google.

Oh, did I mention the program is free to anyone??

:D

yea, I did this all with the free version. It took me about an hour to figure out how to use all the tools (the ones I used for this model anyhow) effectivley

doug - I like the 90G tank, looks nice

I like the attention to detail.

Yeah, that Sketchup is slick. I d/l'd it last week but haven't done much with it yet. There are several aquarium related files already built if you do a search on the Sketchup site.

It having time and no money to actually build the tank. lol
I'm really intrested in designing things so in my free time, i just draw, at school on paper, or on inventorm and at home on sketchup. but thanks for the compliments. I hope i didn't "hijack" the thread.

LOL I think have done something like 30 designs in sketchup in order to try to figure out what I acutally want my tank to look like!

Its a great program!

I drew a triangle and then i used the "follow" me tool and followed the larger circle so it extrudes (push pulls) the triangle in a circular shape.
