the Maxcap is a better one in my opinion but it is overpriced.

I think replacing the filters really depends on how much crap is in your tap water that the unit has to filter out, so there's no fixed interval. I've been doing 30g water changes every other week plus top off for 9 months and the built in TDS meter on the unit is still detecting only 1 ppm TDS before the DI stage and 0 ppm TDS out of the unit.

Admittedly, 150 GPD is overkill, but it is nice to produce all the water I need in a few hours.
