Skimmer for 1100 gallons

Forget the bubble kings, not worth the price. A quality build with a quality pump does not warrant a big ticket price. Replacement parts should be readily accessible and affordable. This is not an option with bubble kings. Large Water throughput is so important with large tanks. just my two cents.

+1 on GEO Beckett. They are monsters. A few guys in my area use them, not on systems that big but close to it. I, sure he has em for that size

I'm sure the Bubble king is nice, but I could buy the Octopus 9000, etss 3000, the reeflo orca AND the Deltec 3070 for what the Bubble king 650 costs. I have a hard time believing that the bubble kings performance is that superior to warrant pricing like that.

In all fairness the BK 650 is a much larger skimmer than the Deltec 3070.
BK's are also one of the best out there.

What I was saying was I could get all 4 skimmers for the price of one Bubble king. 10K for a bubble king is ridiculous. While the bubble king might have an edge in performance over any of those 4 on their own, Im sure the $7K price increase is not worth it, it would make more sense to get an additional skimmer if needed.

Currently checking out the ATB 18, but I dont like the $1000 premium to go from internal to external...
Im going to call Geo tomorrow to see if they are still making skimmers

You might want to look at the large twin pump AquaMedic skimmer. Its about $1200 and it works great if you have the height (its over six feet tall). Personally I think a tall skimmer is the ticket for good skimming. More contact time with the water. I like mine and I really like the price. Jerry.
