Skimmer to buy maybe

You know I ran 2 reef devils on my 180 for probably 7 years, they worked great, no problems. I like my ASM but I feel the ETS was built better. I think the ASM is newer better tech, but the euroreef is built so much better. for a small tank I think you can get a small Euroreef for under $200 right? You copuld run 2 on a 180 and be fine I think they all skim well, but if you are going to have a skimmer around for a long time get a good one the first time I think.
Problems with the ASM:
cheap cell cast, not very clear or precisely shaped like the ER
the pieces lock together somewhat poorly and leak, sometimes just salt creep leak but still annoying
the skimmer cup cap leaks foam for me around the locking tab slots. the skimmate foam then runs back into the sump, not good.
the way the pumps fit into the skimmer body is weak, they just push in.
the riser output tube is noisy and splashes, I noticed the ER is all sealed up and has a gate valve for adj. and a trick angle cut output pipe for further adj.
They look similiar in a picture but put 2 side by side and you'll see all the reasons why ER costs more. Now on a big tank you could be talking $700 versus $2300 thats a lot. on a small tank maybe $100 diff. I think ER is worth it, I wish I had one.

I have a 180 Gal tank. It is heavily stocked too. I think I would need something bigger. I will do some more searching on the Euro's though. I know that is what Cris Capp uses on his tank.

Dan, what did you have in mind as far as how much you want to spend? If you want to wait a few weeks, you can get the new ATI bubble master. Its becoming really popular in Europe and Asia and its making its debut here in the US soon. Reefgeek.com is taking preorders here I believe.

Here is a thread on it Dan if you havent seen it yet. Link I think the BM 200 would serve your tank very well. At $459, its not a bad price for a so far well reviewed skimmer.

Hehe! My boss is cool. Hes not afraid to throw the boys a bone every once in a while to show his appreciation. Even for a small company like I work for.

I'm placing an order for the 250 tomorrow. 10% off on pre-order seems like a fair deal to me. With all the interest in this skimmer on RC I'd surmise that if there are any issues they will be taken care of promptly.

I'm about to double the fish load in my 240 and I don't want to worry about Nitrates.

Interesting, looks like the bubble king that klaus jensen builds eh? is this a copy? I know Russ post over in the zeovit forum, have those german guys been talking about this skimmer vs: the Bubble master?
