Matt, I was there the day that you handed Nook your $20. If I recall, nobody in the store FORCED you to join SLASH; we did not tie you up and press a hot branding iron into your skin or anything...you joined by CHOICE. I haven't seen you at any of the recent get togethers, nor do I see you offering to help with any of the things that SLASH has going (IE website design, Sentinel, etc). Perhaps before you start griping about where your $20 is or isn't going you should see what you can do to make SLASH better.

CALM DOWN (why does everyone get heated when i say my opinion or have a question?) i dont give a dam about the forceing thing becuase i did it to support a reef club. i am not complaining about the payment. i just now want to know what NEXT? i didnt intend to drop my twenty off and then leave never to speak again. i wanna get something out of that twenty.
i just want to know IF anything is gonna happen. The reason i bring this up, is because i paid $15 for a family seasl membership and they have a monthly EVENT (not get together). I can go to a bar(well not a bar) but a restuarant with my good buddies whenever i want for the price of gas and have a fine time.
I just want to know IF or WHEN will there ever be a monthly REEF event? like frag swap, fellow reefer tank tour, LFS tour, museum tour, guest speaker...
i believe that i am helping SLASH by posting this thread. i would be happy to help in other ways, but because i dont have a car yet.. i cannot drive here or there every night and do stuff. i can do reef related stuff on sats for 3 more weeks!! then i should have a car ans will be able to do stuff for slash any time.
bottem line-- i will help when and if i can with anything. i didnt pay to have "get togethers" (if that is all you are having, then what is the fee for?)
i know the club is new, i just wanted to know if anyone knew what the club was about? kinda poor if you are already collecting money, when you have no idea what the money will do...
i dont feel right posting this on the interent... i would rather speak to someone in person, so that they know what my thoughts are and take what i mean to say the right way. instead, you will all probably raise holy hell about it.....

I agree with the " i would rather speak to someone in person, so that they know what my thoughts are and take what i mean to say the right way" part of your post...the internet makes it hard to figure out exactly what people's moods are. I attempt to compensate for this by using lots of emoticons, but not everybody does that just like they don't interpret things correctly.

IF THE ONLY THING THAT THIS CLUB IS GOING TO DO IS HAVE GET TOGETHERS, THEN I AM OUT. I DIDNT PAY 20$ TO GO TO EAT WITH YOU GUYS. (i love you all)

Would you like to do work for SLASH? There are several volunteer opportunities available I think that things are just now getting going as far as the club goes. I would imagine that pretty soon the Board will have all kinds of fun stuff planned. For now, hang in there!

Your money is being put to use to do the things that this club need to have doine. It will be used for membership cards and other supplies that are needed. It has already been used for the club to join MASNA.

You don't feel right about posting this, yet you did so without hesitation. I did not get a pm from you about this before you opened it up. If you had been kind enough to ask me for my phone number in a PM I would have told you everything you wanted to know. I hope you have taken the time to go to the website and actually read. All of your questions would have been answered before you asked them. The SLASH website is loaded with exactly what you are asking. That wasn't an accident, it was planned to have as much info. as possible for members on the website. Is it complete, not even close, but you would know what we were trying to do, as a group.
Grow up just a little, you only joined a week ago, haven't asked any of the staff anything and now you want to rant? ***? If you want your 20 bucks back, ask me, I'll give it to you out of my pocket and encourage you to remain a member and see for yourself what is in the works. That way you have your 20 back, are still a paid member and you can worry about something else.
Is that fair enough? :bum:
