Small Clown disappeared overnight

I had a smallish clownfish in my tank for a few weeks now. Last night I saw him breathing heavily and come this morning I can't find him anywhere in the tank.

I've lifted every rock and not remains. Is it possible he died last night and the 2 scarlet hermits I have completely devoured his remains already?

More than likely you either have more of a cleanup crew than you think (maye bristle worms), or your clown jammed itself into a rock crevice to die.

Check your overflow. Mine used to love going over that wall and would sometimes make it to the sump.

check your filter chambers. I couldn't find my yellow watchman goby for 2 days, then
I looked in my filter chamber, and he was sitting in there.

I'd say check your sump or overflow too, but the fact you mention it breathing heavy suggests it may have died, and yes, a CUC can devour it's remains overnight, especially bristle worms.
