Smooth's 29 gallon build!

Its a new bulkhead. I put rectorseal 5 for a seal. I did so from reading lots of recommendations. Some said teflon tape works too

Finished the plumbing today. Hopefully I'll get a chance to test it out tomorrow with fresh water.

nice, how are you liking the reefcleaner rock? and where did you buy the baffles for your sump? i need to get some soon for my 29g sump

Thanks all!

KL, had the baffles cut at Carmel glass in Sand City. 7 bucks each piece. Take your tank with you and theyll make sure it fits snug.

Im still curing the rock but it really is beautiful rock! If all goes well the rock will go in the tank on sunday. I actually have to chisel a few pieces down to size.

Looks like I got both leaks taken care of now. Bubble trap works like a charm. I'll finally be buying SW for the tank this week!!!! Planning on cycling with a small piece of live rock, 30lbs of dry rock, and a tad of ammonia that I have on hand.

Emptied the tank today and got working on aquascaping ideas. The 12" width of the tank is proving to be a headache. This layout is not final just yet. Approximately 20-25lbs of rock.

Very nice. It looks just like the aquascape I made haha.

We're you going to use any powerheads? I didn't see you list any.
Can't wait to see this filled up with saltwater and some fish!

Thanks! Yeah, haven't purchased the powerhead yet. Will do so this week. Jebao wp-10 is what I'm going to purchase. Easy on the wallet and it's suppose to be an above average unit performance wise.

Tank should be wet in 2-4 days. I'm thinking of splurging and purchasing the Red Seas Pro salt mix. I'm sure the local LFS does not carry it. So online ordering it will be. That may delay getting the tank filled.

Krew, do you have a build thread up? Would love to see how your aquascape is set up. I like the way mine is, but feel that it needs some tweaking.

Ordered the Red Sea coral pro salt! Should have the tank wet by the end of the week now. Just for the sake of posting pics, took a few more with flash, came out much better. (never mind the two very small pieces of rubble which are out of position) As you will see, the 12" depth leaves little room to maneuver.

Got the tank started!!! Used instant ocean salt. The coral pro is taking too long to get here. Added 40lbs of live sand. Half samoa pink and half a much finer grade. Added 25lbs of reef cleaners dry rock to the display and a 4lb piece of live from the LFS. Another 5lbs of dry is in the sump.

Im also running a HOB filter to help with the cloudy water. Will remove the filter in a day or two.
