Once in place the pressure holds them in so all you need is 4 pieces of wood held together somehow (I used corer brackets). It's only been about 6 months like that, but no blowout yet...and if it does..it's in a place that will drain with no issues.

I just made a spray bar using Lockline for my 30gal frag tank. It fits right into the bulkhead is very inexpensive. you can make it as long as you want, direct it where you want, and put nozzles and/or flares as you see fit. got them at

Anothe use for salt buckets:
I have a bucket under the sink that I keep a gallon of vinegar in with lid on (keeps vinegar smell in bucket) All my powerheads, brushes, tools, etc. just get tossed in there when dirty. When I need them, I just rinse them off with hot water and their good to go. No scrubbing needed.

to keep bags of new arrivals from floating away while they are being acclimated, use double sided poster tape. holds the bag in place with no chance of the currents getting it

Make your own joes Juice, kalkwasser and RO water is all it takes.
Mix as much or as little as you need and store the rest in a plastic bottle or film bottle. Mix several tablespoons of Kalk with ro water to a thickness of a little wetter then paste. Draw it up in a small syringe and spot kill anything you need to get rid of, aptasia or majanos.

Here's an idea I read in a post a while ago for cooling the water in your tank if you don't wanna buy chillers (not sure if it's already posted here or not).
Connect a long hose to the output of a pump inside your tank, run the hose inside a bucket full of ice, and stick the other end of the hose back in the tank. This way the tank water goes through the hose, inside the bucket of ice, returning cool water back into the tank.
You can change the level of cooling by adjusting the length of the hose that's sitting in the ice bucket.
If you have a small fridge or freezer you can run the hose inside the fridge, so you don't have to buy blocks of ice (not sure if it would be cheaper though).
