So Who's This Tyree

Pardon the ignorance, but people keep mentioning his name around and I see his corals are just dead gorgeous and rare. Who is this guy, and why is he the only one who has these corals?

Steve Tyree is an author, photographer, and there have been several corals in the trade that have gotten his name through one way or another. I belive both Borneman and Sprung have written several articles on the nomenclature of many popular corals in the trade.

Quote from the site:

"This web site is the main distribution site for captive farmed corals from the farming business Reeffarmers (owned and operated by Steve Tyree). Steve has been farming and distributing captive stony corals since 1993. Back then, the captive maintainance of reef building stony corals was still considered impossible by many. "

Women want him and men want to be him.

How do you know if there aren't women that want to be him and men that want him?

price to raise them or price to sell them? I have 4 limited editions what am I bid. They are auction editions of course!

I let Tyree name my first child -- he named him "LE Purple Grape Fuzzy Baby". We dont talk much since that day.

In all seriousness, he's a guy whose very passionate about corals. You have to be, in order to continue to do what he does, despite the many obtuse remarks some people might make of him, only to barely break even at the end.

The guy knows his stuff. His Coral Farmers Market idea is really taking off and...if you hang around him long enough...you'll find that the guy can be pretty hilarious:p

hes a guy that finds nice corals, grows them out to be really nice, frags and sells them at medium-high price

I got the opportunity to meet and talk with Steve when I had only been in the hobby for a few months. He didn't brush me off like a newbie and I learned a great deal in that hours conversation. All the corals I got from him are doing great.
