Just got my first couple of frags in and a pair of onix clownfish, for the frags its a frogspawn, a hammer, an orange ricordea, a pink zoanthid frag and a green zoanthid frag.

Will let the fish and frags rest for tonight and try to post some pics tomorrow.

whats going on? I didnt write wreath...

I wanted to say fish...

what the heck is wreath central? why it doesnt say reefcentral?

Man finding this thread was a real pain, page 6?? we need to sticky these system specific threads :D ....... Anyway..

All you guy and gals with the Solana and disco ball light setup is it normal to get a light shock while touching the aluminum disco ball and the water in the system at the same time?

I was adjusting the return last evening and I rubbed up against the light when my hand was in the water and got a light shock....scared the bejesus out of me :)

I don't think so, and that has a name, I'm not sure what its called but I think something is wrong or touching somewhere or wet somewhere...someone who knows will comment.

Sounds like your disco ball is not grounded properly, i say this because if it were grounded properly you wouldn't have acted as a ground yourself which is what happened.

is it connected to a timer or surge protector? try plugging it straight to the wall and try it again with wet feet, if it still happens id say call them that is not supposed to happen and you could have worse outcomes.

im terrified of getting shocked :eek1:

Everything is plugged into a DC8 for my aquacontroller. It could only be 1 of 4 things I am thinking.

1. Light isn't grounded, unlikely I believe.
2. Visatherm Stealth heater that IS fully submerged
3. Stock return pump
4. Stock skimmer pump

  • I will one by one unplug everything tonight and see what's causing it.

It's a very mild shock, kinda like when you put your tongue on a 9 volt battery :)

I just got my new Sapphire Aquatics skimmer for my 34g Solana. I took the stock skimmer out put the new skimmer together installed it in the back of the tank and plugged it in. I don't see any bubbles, I can hear and feel the pump working but that's it. Is this normal? I even pulled out the air tube and didn't feel anything coming out of the tube. Any help would be great...

I filled it with water, don't see any bubbles or foam in the skimmer.

You have the silencer out of the water right?
The tube with the cylinder thing on the end?
And you have that door closed all the way like the instructions say? Its on the left, should be all the way up?
