Thanks for looking

Thanks everyone.

Yeah just gearing up a bit.Its been long enough and I'll have sometime to make progress in another few weeks.Have the wife do pics.

Thanks kat.

To be honest ,I was never much for gagetry. But I've got to be reallistic.Between running my 3girls to practices ,games, busy work schedules,ect..ect..Long gone are the days of being bachelor and free time is scarce.I would be kidding myself to sink thousands of dollars in corals ,rock,fish,ect..and not consider any benefit from todays technology for a few hundered bucks of added insurance.I rarely buy myself anything and really thought it out for the past six months before pulling the trigger.

i hear ya! i believe it's time for me to go in the gadgetry direction as well. but i would miss a lot of that "hands on" stuff....Liam goes to school in the fall, so some free time will become available.

When you mount the RKE try to avoid plugging the cable in the back and taking a sharp 90 degree to exit through the lower groove. The sharp radius puts pressure on the rj connector and can cause connection problems. If you can mount it and have the cable go straight back through a drilled hole do it!

Thanks for the reminder.
I took note when you mentioned it in one of your threads a little while back.I'll be sure to follow that advice when the time comes.

Make sure you have a shutoff for you ro/di to work with the floatswitch. If you don't I have a brand new one you can have for free :)

Interesting - I have that EXACT same float valve, but it was packaged/branded differently. I'm curious to know where you got it from?

Also, I like the slick float switch brackets!

The float valve I picked up from abc reefs last Fri.Probably just the typical repackaging markup game.

Fwiw-I was following along with your led and controller build threads.Dam interesting to say the least.May actually attempt an led build at some point nothing in the near future though ,on the flipside of that ,the controller build ,LOL,way outa my league in the electronics department.

Hit me up if you ever get interested in either project. The LED stuff is pretty straightforward. The controller thread looks intimidating now because we're still very much in the development stage - once the project is "done" we will be able to publish it in a much more understandable format.

-Wille, Hey thanks ,I'll keep it on the back burner for now.

-Mel,
I'll get some pics and descriptions of what Im doing tommarow. Its hard to explain with words here so I'm thinking that might give the best insight.I'm going to try and make some progress this weekend but the bulk of it I wont be ready for a few weeks yet.Working way to much till then.

Some really nice liverock I got.
