Sonicboom's 180 build in Tampa

I purchased a booster pump for mine (live in Tampa also) and it made a big difference in everything.....more water and less resin usage...and much faster to fill the 200g bin.

Thanks fuzzy, I followed your build thread prior to starting mine. What was your pressure before and after the pump?

nothing like waking up to the sound of a waterfall and a battery backup alarm., then realizing I need to be at the tank in exactly 2/10th's of a second I jump out of bed and bolt full speed down the hallway only to learn I am going too fast to make the right turn before hitting the wall in front of me.. no sooner did i start to turn right did my legs come out from under me as I stepped onto the shiniest floor ever. slamming my knee into the baseboard and getting a grip on the wall i pulled my self in front of the tank to see what the hell was happening. At this point, ( and thank goodness) the GFCI tripped and power the my return pump stopped. I then notice the return pump with nothing attached to it. The return hose had popped off..

after all was said and done and 15 towels, 1 battery backup, one surge protector, and 8 gallons of water replaced, there were no casualties other than my knee. :)

Oh S**t i know that feeling. I'm sorry dude. No damaged to the flooring?

I lost about the same onto laminate 'wood' flooring. All had to be replaced. A shop vac is great to have handy for those situations though, works wonders.

What is your return hose connected with?

Floors downstairs are tile so no worries there. His was connected with a nylon hose clamp. AApparently I didn't tighten it enough. I busted out the 24" long channel lock for it this time.

I have 3 shop vacs of different sizes and had towels down before I even remembered about them.

The good thing about this is the new battery backup has three controlled by master ports so when I press feed and the return shuts off, so does the skimmer and heater.

Found these snails on the rocks, not sure what they are. They are clear to white. I'll try to get a better pic tonight.

Thanks for asking, was sore the first day but all good now, I can't complain after what you have been through.

I am going to try again tonight as they were all gone in the morning. Did a little research and they could just be baby nassarius. "Could",

This one is better,

It does look like it from the link!

I've had juvenile Turbos appearing all over my tank in the last 2 months. I spot them, grab them and throw them into the frag tank.

As promised, here are a few FTS and FSS ( full sump shot), LED's completely destroy photograph lighting so i used my flash and turned it almost all the way down to offset the LED's. the two shots are with flash -2.0 and -1.7. Once finances are in order i can order the third hydra and light up the dropoff on the right.

Sorry just catching up 38psi before and 62 psi after. If you are running 58 BEFORE a booster pump that is very good for this area. I am not sure how much a bp would get you if you are running 58 already as it would likely have to be throttled way back or the psi would be too strong.

Won a Tunze 7094 Multicontroller on Ebay last week for 40.00, it's an older model but is in New condition, connected it to my Tunze 6055. Have a nice little pulse going but need a WHOLE lot more movement. hopped on Ebay tonight and won a Jebao WP40, should be here Wednesday.
