I'm from tampa if would of known about this thread I would have lead to someone who would have built you a custom sump for a great price who's local.

Thanks Newbie, I should at least be able to get it plumbed and filled, after doing more research I plan on going with 1.5" drains since the 57 gallon sump will be able to handle it. Still figuring out the returns measurements.

pump should arrive tomorrow, also just ordered an RO/DI system since even after a whole house canister filter and a 3 stage whirlpool mechanical filter our water is still at 200ppm. stupid hard Florida water...

That pump maxes out at 792 GPH and possibly max out at 900 GPH. So at max it will do 5Xs your tank volume. I will keep it all the same measurement from the return discharge. That's just my opinion.

Thanks, I calculated 4Xs tank volume with plumbing @792gph, so your saying keep it at 1"all the way through?

I would all the way before it gets to the output and I would chuck it down to the 3/4 inch. that will give you a little more power. Almost like adding a penductor on the end. You should be fine either way. Its just a flowing option to think about.

I agree with NRA, 1" to 3/4". That's pretty similar to what I'm doing, I'm going from 1.5" - 1" pipe, then at the loc-line I'm putting flow accelerators. You'll get tons of flow without too much forcing itself through the sump.

ok that makes perfect sense, just like a water hose. I will be ordering a pair of adjustable nozzles today and a Y pipe for the return pump. Thanks again all

UPDATE: got my RO installed and producing 14 ppm water. Didn't notice it was only an RO, waiting on DI filter to arrive for the 0 ppm, Trigger systems 42x16x18 sump "should" be here in a week or so, also just ordered an SRO 3000 INT which should be here Saturday.

Sorry, but a brand new RO unit should be at 00 ppm TDS or very close, even without the DI unit. Are you on well water? Look to see if the line water pressure is too low or if the water temp is too cold. Either can affect the RO membrane. Make sure you are meeting all the manufacturer's requirements for optimum performance of the RO unit.

Thanks Dave, that is very good info, no i am on city water, the ****er is i have another canister filter and three stage whole house filter inline before the RO and the lowest i can get is 14 ppm. I'm going to have to get a pressure gauge to rule out pressure.

UPDATE: got the DI filter installed and am now at 0 ppm, can't get down past 14 ppm on RO water to the kitchen faucet. I will blame that on the famous Florida water hardness. I am picking up two 30 gallon water containers Tuesday from watertanksupply.com and will set one up to collect DI and one for salt.

received my skimmer Sat morning!
