Sonny, You had alot of fish in your tank. I think I am having a hard time with overfeeding. I like to feed my corals through broadcast feeding 3x a week with a mix of

Color boosting pink pellets
Cyclopeeze
Mysis
Brine shrimp
Reef bugs

That is the mix that I use 3x a week and i try not to overfeed but The mysis is mixed in with that mix so I tend to overfeed cause my fish love the mysis, especially my large dussemeiri tang.

I also feed spectrum pellets at least 2x a day and I feed fresh well rinsed mysis at least 1 cube 3 days a week.

I know I am overfeeding, but I love to feeds my fishes!:) They get so happy. I just recently about a month ago added a Kole tang and a few of my corals have browned out lately because I think I overfed during this time because I wanted to make sure my kole was eating and healthy. All is well but I am having poor PE and color on only a few of my SPS corals. Could you give me a reccomendation on feeding?

1x Yellow watchman goby
2x Ocellaris clowns
1x Pygmy angel
1x Kole tang 3inches
1x Dussemeir tang 6" rougly
1x sixline wrasse
1x chromis

75 gallon tank with 20g refugium and 30gal sump (half filled)

Hello,

personally I would stop feeding the corals all that you do. Stick to feeding the fish Spectrum pellets and Formula One flakes, which is the only form of nutrients that go into my tanks. I do not feed or add anything extra. I keep a bottle of AA's handy in case my tank gets too clean and I need to color things back up.

How often do you feed the pellets and flake?

I agree sunny, i could pat my purple tang and clowns, i hand caught the purple tang when i ofloaded him to a bigger tank the other week, the only problem is that the wife made me keep the clowns which i wanted to ofload for the new tank:mad2:

Once a day. I feed an average amount of food.

LOL, you have to listen to the wife! Or else ====> :fun2:

Beautiful fish. Can you post new photos of your corals please. I am planning a smaller version of your tank; T5's + Rimless.

Hello,

I have taken down my rimless tank. I will have a new and larger rimless soon. Thank you.

Sonny

Just wanted to say thanks for all help you give here, Sonny. It's refreshing to see someone working hard just to help others.

Also, I'm still blown away by the last tank. I can't even imagine how great the new one will be. :)

Sonny,

I see you dosed Strontium (1 Teaspoon) & Lugols (1 drop daily) in your tank.

Did you test for these?

I'm basically setting up a very similar tank....would it be safe for me to follow the same dosing?

Have you ever used aquavitro fuel?

Tank day! OK, here are the options: 72x36x20 Rimless 3/4" glass, or 72x32x20 1/2" glass . The price difference is minimal seeing that the manufacturer is thankful for me kicking off the rimless craze a couple years back. The only issue I have is the weight of the tank. 3/4" is gonna be tough taking down into the basement!! I could go 1/2" on the larger tank but they are worried about deflection. What do you guys say?

I would go with the 36" and play it safe with the 3/4"

It will suck getting it down BUT it will suck more regretting the decision later... be it because of the dimensions or a flooded basement.

Those dimensions are going to be awesome man, cant wait to see what scape you come up with

I'd go with 3/4. Not worth the risk and the manufacturer is suggesting it. Deflection means movement or bending of the glass and/or joints.

as soon as you set up the smaller tank you will regret not getting the other. As many tanks as you have set up you should know this

Hey Sunny, This must be very exciting!
Can't wait to see your new tank!

I saw an Elos tank that is 60 X 36 X 22. Can't remember the actual depth and height. But at 60 inches they only used half inch glass and there was quite a bit of deflection, which is really scary. Whatever depth you go, If I were you, I would choose the thicker glass. You also end up with more silicone. JMHO.
Good Luck!

I would go with the 3/4" glass. The add security make you sleep better at night. 36" Width will give you so much aquascape option. Throw a big pizza party and invite the biggest mf you know.

Thanks everyone for the recommendations. I guess 3/4" it will be. :D

Hey Sonny,

Take a look at my thread on how they braced my tank from the inside. That may actually work well for you without having to go too thick.. There's a picture of the inside corner bracing on the last couple of pages on the thread.
