Sorry to be repetitive...magnet holder question.

Hey Roger,

I am confused about which magnet holder to get.
I have an AGA 180.
What magnet holders will I need for the following:
Stream 6100.
Stream 6200.
Wavebox.

Thank you,
Sean

Sean,

I am using the smaller set (6080) on my 180. They are plenty strong for the 6100 and Wavebox...don't know about the 6200. Probably ok if you don't point them at too much of an angle. I didn't really care for them on my Streams because they pointed down a little when mounted on the magnet, causing sand storms. The standard bracket with long screws was more adjustable.

It seems like these magnets were made for the Wavebox...they fit perfectly and are darn sturdy. I had to do a little mod on the upper magnet though. After positioning the Wavebox, the upper magnet was half on, half off the AGA trim. I remedied that by cutting a piece of 1/4" acrylic to "shim" the magnet up to the same level of the trim. So the outer upper magnet sits half on the trim and half on the acrylic piece. Can't even tell it's there and the Wavebox hasn't budged!

Hope that helps...Roger must be out Holiday shopping.

Luis

p.s. ...there's a guy in the selling forum with these magnets for $80...hurry!

Hey Luis,
Thanks a bunch for the response.
Santa is dropping off some 'toys' for me today and I definitely wan magnets for the wavebox and need to know which list to get on. :D

Sean,

By that do you mean Santa is wearing (UPS) brown this year? What all is Santa bringing you?

I got my magnets from PA...ordered in June got'em in October!

Luis

Highlander.
Thanks a ton.

Luis,
Yep Santa is wearing brown shorts this year lol.
He is bringing me a multi-controller, a 6200 & 6100 stream pump, a Wavebox, some bulbs, Ca reactor media and a few other odds and ends.
Apparently I was a good boy this year. ;)

...Nobody is THAT good...Let's not do the "hugging" thing with the UPS person when he/she brings all the goodies. The UPS guy that comes to my house (almost weekly) comes in every chance he gets to check out my reef. He calls it "his" reef since he delivered most of it!

Let us know how everything works out

Happy Holidays,

Luis

Sean, for the 6100 you need a 6080.50, for the 6200 you need a 6200.50- it is strong and needs a bigger magnet to stay in place. The wavebox needs two 6080.50, one at the top and one at the bottom, otherwise it will teeter totter and start walking across the tank.

Thanks Luis and Roger,
My tank is now bare bottom so with this flow and the 5 sea-swirls, I am hoping to get any detrius off the bottom into the filter socks.
Happy Holiday's. :)

Sean,

Today is a good day...I saw that you got the magnets on the selling forum too! Nice Job!

You might be giving me "flow envy".

Go with the flow,

Luis

Hey Luis,

It all arrived safe and sound.

Here it all is laid out on some towels.
Now to figure out the best way to implement it all lol

Sean...Looking good!

I guess you'll be up for awhile. It's a challenge to figure out how to get all the electronics mounted up nice and purdy. Especially those transformers. Can't really just screw them to a flat surface because the cords are in the way. I installed a 3/4" spacer (piece of wood) behind the transformers before I mounted them.

Have fun,

Luis

I wish I were going to be up messing with it.
But I don't have the center Island of my rockwork in my tank yet, just SPS on top of egg crate still.
Need to find the time to take the final portion of my rock out of the cooking tubs, assemble them with dowels and put in my tank.

Till then the Tunze equipment will lay RIGHT THERE mocking me! :(
