South Lake Tahoe Frags, March 16 pickup

If I remember correctly the Hawkins can be a little sensitive to dipping. Are any of the other corals sensitive to dips?

Other than club corals and reeferitis, all corals picked up.

If any of you have problems with your frags, please PM me. I can coordinate issues with Powderhound.

Hope you guys enjoy the corals!

And thanks Powderhound for making this happen! Great guy, great price, great frags.

Please return the favor if he ever asks about one of your interesting corals. I can always coordinate to get it up to him(or you can visit him up in South Lake Tahoe yourself.)

Frags are home and floating. The frags look great just sitting in the containers.

Thanks for organizing this Ron. Thanks for the sale powderhound thanks for bringing the frags to ptown Ken.

As always, please make sure to dip your corals. Try to blast them to get off any straggler pests.

Just in case. Sometimes even the seller or swapper or donator is not aware they have pests.

For those unfamiliar, use Bayer Advanced and/or Revive/CoralRX. Others have used hydrogen peroxide.

I tend to do Bayer and Revive/CoralRX back to back. They kill different pests.

Whew!
Finally done dipping corals and doing a water change.

51 frags to double dip, a few to mount or remount.

And the result is...

Only some frags are shown. :)

It saddens me to write this post, but it has been brought to my attention that a few of the frags had some flat worms on them. I hope every one dipped the corals before putting them in your tank. I was unaware I had a problem, as I would never sell them if I knew. I did pull out 7 of the colonies I took frags from and dipped in revive. I did see a couple flat worms come off( only like 1 per colony). I just need to make this known. Again I apologize for any trouble this cause anyone.
Dip dip dip. Please contact me if you have any questions

I didn't see any FW but I couldn't see much in the Bayer dip container.

Almost everybody is looking happy. The Bloody Mary monti is pretty pale but I have no reason to think it won't pull thru. The smurfette milli is looking great.

Not the best shot but they are sitting in the sand getting used to their new home.

I too did not notice stuff in the Bayer or revive dip containers after 15 min in each.

And I must say, polyp extension galore!

Im glad to hear that, and happy you guys like the frags. I just thought it was right to let everyone know. Lokii let me know how the monti does, it was on a rack pretty low compared to where the colony sits, it loves high light.

My frags are doing well also all 14 of them lol..

I did notice quite a few little devils though after I put the powerhead in the bucket so I cut all frags and remounted them just to get rid of any eggs just in case cause where there is smoke there is fire.

Gotta say Powderhound is a stand up guy and I commend him for letting it be know I wouldn't hesitate to buy again And I commend him for the frag size most of mine were FaT =).. I'll post some pics later tonight after the kid goes down..

Dap, once you told me I couldnt in good faith not say something. Like I said i pulled out qiute a few of my colonies today and did a revive dip, blasted them in a bucket for 20 minutes and did see a couple. Thank you for letting me know.

No worries at least now you know =).. Here's some of mine.. All the ones on rocks not plugs..

I've had good results so far, I think....still a noob, with bayer followed by melafix marine as a dip. Each kills different stuff I assume and you should see stuff FLY off the corals once you put them in the melafix dip

Revitalizing this thread for people who expressed interest last time... I am doing another Tahoe run in a few weeks.
Check my other post.
