Splitting my LTA

My purple LTA is 12in plus in a crossed, I'm looking to cut him in half. I have done this with many BTA and if I recall it is possible with LTA also. Am I correct?

LTAs (M. doreensis) don't split on their own as a method of reproduction in nature. Cutting one in half would be a risky venture. It might work, but odds are not nearly as good as with a BTA.

Would like to see a picture of the underside of the oral disc, but it sure looks like an M. doreensis. Will say this, I am confident that it isn't an BTA (( E. Quadricolor )) nor an H. Mag, the 2 host anemones that split naturally.

IMO, it would be a poor idea to attempt to cut this anemone.

Looks like a m. doreensis,I haven't heard of anyone cutting a lta in half.I think the end result would not be good.Just my .02.

Spots on the underside sounds like an LTA (M. doreensis). As mentioned before, don't cut that species.

Even slight damage to the foot usually leads to death for an LTA. I would all but guarantee that if you cut it you will kill it. BTAs split naturally so they are better able to heal from the cut. LTAs cant take it.

Your odds of success with cutting a LTA are zero. Do a search online and try to find one example of a M. doreensis surviving this treatment. Trust me, there aren't any.
