Gumma, the Dragon Eyes looks awesome!

Here's another deepwater I'd like to add to this thread:

Here's an updated shot of my Packman Brother Acro:

I am waking up an old thread, but here is mine so-called "deep-water acropora":

It was suggest to me that it is A. speciosa.

Here is another one, but this coral, which is Acropora granulosa, gets brown if the light intensity decreases:

Finally, here is another one, Acropora lokani. Similar to Acropora granulosa, this coral likes intense light (in excess of 400 mmol/sec/m2) to show its purple coloration. otherwise, it starts to look brown.

So, just because a coral has smooth skin does not mean that it was collected from deep waters. That all depends on the collection point. In fact, Veron states that A. lokani is found high on the reef, whereas A. granulosa is found at different depths.

Wow.. Those are some seriously pale acros..
They look like how Aussie corals look when they get here..
Sorry I don't have an ID

Bulent, beautiful corals!

I love his thread.. I'm going to go back to the beginning and look at all the pics again.

I agree. It makes me feel like setting up a "smooth-skinned only acropora set up" (I refrained from writing "deep-water only acropora" set up :D) if only I could get my hands on some of the most beautiful corals shown in various posts in this thread.
