SPS deep water acro lets see yours

Took a chance on a suharsonoi from diver den, it was listed as green, my hope is with hight 20k lighting, it will become yellow like some of the suharsonoi I see on RC

Here is one I don't see often. Having trouble getting it happy but hopefully it will color back up nice (turned green after it settled in). It was yellow when it arrived.

Top down shot, I believe it's a jacquelineae.

Piper27, that is a gorgeous piece. It reminds me of the hawkins in color, but with a much more interesting growth pattern. I can't tell from the picture, is the acro tabling or growing upwards?

Reefrockerlive, this is it from the side when it still had its yellowish or bleached color. This coral tables straight out in the wild and am hoping it continues in captivity. I think reef farmers had a colony in 2003 not sure what the status of that is or was.

Here is the pic of it when it came in, side shot to show the tabling form.

I just checked the system I have a frag of it in and it looks like its getting bluer tips on it. Anyone have experience keeping this coral? Obviously it was majorly ****ed when I got it.

Reefrocker, for these so called deep water acros, what settings do you run your Mitras at?

Nice Mr Pacman/ Hurlock acro…
I recently got a Wild Red Dragon, but it developed green tips in my tank!. I think the proper Wild Bali Red Dragon gets blue tips?...

Mo

The one in my photo does have light blue tips but that may be due to my lighting. There is no green on it at all.

Awesome acros everyone, it's great to see this thread still getting updated.

After having a Hydor heater crack in the tank and nearly losing my Packman Brother colony, here's an updated shot, fully recovered. :)

@Reefmutt, I have my Mitras set to 75% max intensity with HV and RB at 100%, all other leds don't go above 25%. PM me if you want the exact file.

@Moser, thanks. I love getting in wild acros when I find them, it's like a mystery coral, either a gem or normal colored. I've had luck with Maricultred pieces as well, my Packman Brother was a mini cultured piece and started off brown.

Thanks for the info! I missed it, earlier, somehow ..
Do you also keep higher light loving sps?
What are your dimensions and how many fixtures do you have?
Thanks!

I have a Red Planet, Suharisoni, Cali Tort, and a baby blue tipped stag. Since my last post here, I've increased the overall intensity to 100% to provide more light to corals outside of the Mitras' dimensions. The acros are doing well in terms of color, with the exception of a few pieces.

The tank dimensions are 36" x 24" x 18" and is being lit by a single Mitras. It'll be getting replaced for the ATI hybrid within the next two weeks.

More even light distribution = Happier acros. :)

At this time, I cannot afford another Mitras and decided on the ATI because my Mitras is going to a friend whose setting up a tank similar to mine. The sale will greatly offset the large expense of the ATI. I also miss T5 lighting, but don't want to sacrifice the led shimmer.
