SPS polyp extension

A question though, can I house my crabs and shrimp in a QT? I dont wanna kill them, otherwise Ill have to sell them.

Should be able to put them in qt no problem. I just left them in my display. I have emeralds, a porcelain crab and a coral banded. All made it through with no problem. I did lose my cleaner shrimp however.

Should it be just a typical QT??? Or should I get some sand and live rock?

I probably wouldn't do sand. If you had access to some good live rock to help with the biological filtration that would probably be good. Otherwise I would just use a small tank and do daily water changes while watching the chemistry. Maybe keep some Amquel or Prime on hand to deal with and ammonia/nitrate issues.

I left all mine in during RB treatment. I dosed only the required amount and did not loose any inverts. Infact my peps were out front dancing during the majority of the treatment.

Oh, and I wouldn't use liverock from your tank unless you don't want to put it back in the tank for 6-8 wks, otherwise you risk reinfestation.

The QT I will use them for is already well established so It wont cycle.

Ugh that scares the crap outta me. I have had my pep and cleaner shrimp for a year

Why would them surviving the treatment scare you? That does not make sense to me. I posted it to help give you confidance as it would give it too me.

If your QT is established and has NO copper in it then put them in there for sure. That is if you can get them out easily. My tank was a 125g and it was not happening to remove them.

Ummmm cause interceptor kills shrimp and crabs. Thats why. Maybe you had luck with it but I dont like to chance that....especially when everywhere else but you has said it will kill them.

It can but there are many times it has been mentioned that inverts will survive. Infact RRaider said all but his/her cleaner shrimp survived in this thread. But too each their own.
