Sps tentacles opens at night

A lot of corals open up their polyps at night. A big reason is because there is a lot more food out at night. You'll notice that there are a lot more pods out at night. Another reason may be that the tank you bought the corals from had something that bit/ate the polyps, so the coral has learned to open up at night when that fish or whatever is asleep, so it hasnt figured out that that fish isnt there anymore. (i hope that made sense)

IMO PE has to do with hunger as well as happiness. If your coral is only extending at night it may be eating enough at night to not need feed during the day. If it is about happiness and you have crystal clear water it could be because of many reasons. flow, light, lack of both, too much of both, etc etc.

About 90% of my sps only have PE at night. Im pretty sure its because my Flame Angel is a nipper.

Thanks guys for the input, as for crystal clear water I can't tell but for sure my water parameters are in check.
I guess sps react differently in different tank set up and it's not a must to have polyp extension

Probably a nipper I bought a purple acro mini colony from a tank that had a filefish in it two months ago and it still hasn't learned that it is safe to come out in the day time. It's growing like crazy anyway though.

Agree.

For some reasons my yellow tang likes to nip 2 of the arcos. They are growing like regular but i've never seen their polyps open up at day time. They come out once the lights go off.
