SPS touching

hi guys and gals,

I recently moved my 60G and had a pretty large crash losing some of my favorite SPS due to the house not being ready for the tank but my apartment lease ending. Anyway, I picked up a 90 gallon and i'm going to see what I can save.

My question is I see all these beautiful tanks packed with SPS and I wonder how they keep them so close together? I had a stylo grow near a tort and the tort immediately died in the area that the stylo was near. Is there a method that i'm missing? like acros can touch arcos but not monti's?

I have a millepora colony with 2 branches of different acro, probably a tort sprouting in between millepora. Both are growing with good PE and healthy. Will let it grow further for confirmation.

It depends some of my acros will just grow away from others. Some grow on top of the other as a barrier, and certain acros kill anything they touch. I have an Efflo that is the angel of death lol. Anything it touches dies within a day or so.

It is hit or miss. In my tank there are a very few that can coexist when touching. Generally there is a looser and a winner. When that happens I trim both back a little. Right now I have a millie that is encrusting into another coral and pushing it back. I need to epoxy over a section of the millie to give the other coral some breathing room.
