Stan's 75g Rimless Reef

Any thoughts to an overflow cover? Or does the deep blues come with one? I got a stop at bed bath and beyond planned for this weekend to look for a little plastic container that would fit on top. I will have to cut a hole as one return goes over the side of the overflow, not the pre-fab hole.

The tank came with an overflow cover/guard.

Stand is complete, can't get a good shot of it in the garage (lighting is pretty bad), once I move it into the basement I'll take some pics.

Basement is done, just need to clean up the mess that comes along with renovating, but all the work is done. New tiles and a new ceiling.

LED Fixture is being tweaked for the new tank as I've stated before. Fixture is being cut in half so I get more spread, and less light being shined directly into the central overflow.

The date is set for set-up. April 21st - 22nd will be the weekend I'm setting up the tank. Have some school stuff I have to take care of as I'm graduating May 18th and waiting on AriMiko to come by and give me a hand with the set-up.

I promise many, many photos in this thread once the tank is running. I didn't buy a tank with 3 sided high clarity glass for nothing!!! :bounce3:

Thanks for all the interest, glad to see people following along. I love this club!

Anyway... time to get back to studying after a day of work. FML.

Study hard dude. tough job market out there. enough with the heavy.

can't wait to see what you come up with for rock work.

Yup, you couldn't be more right Aldo. Have 3 friends who recently graduated and are either not working at all or working at a job that is not even remotely related to their degree.

Pics up tomorrow, as I'll be moving the stand to where the tank is going to be.

<----EXCITED

hahahaha.

It's almost alive!

*Currently I'm deciding on an ATO system. Any suggestions? I've seen a few people speak of AutoTopOff.com, JBJ ATO, Reef Fanatic ATO... anything else? Looking for a "best bang for your buck" type of product..

I upgraded my return pump from the Eheim 1260 (630gph) to the Eheim 1262 (900gph), due to the height of the stand (45") as well as the manifold I'll be creating which will feed...

-The DT
-Carbon Reactor
-GFO Reactor
-Possibly a UV Sterilizer
-Extra Valve for possible future additions to filtration

So a manifold with 5 outlets.

Looking great! Would suggest and this is just my own opine, something a little bigger for a return and go external. I know you know, but 45 inches in height you've already cut your flow in half... then add your manifold and it's even more.
Great work and i see alot of future fuzzy sticks !! TTYS.

that is nuts I am blow away by the wood work, I was going with that tank but I did not like the over flow in the middle so I got the 80 frag tank from deep blue

Thanks for the compliment buddy!

I felt the same but will be making to islands with Zoanthids and other softies/LPS in the middle.

I know the over flow is high but I have a rock wall from marco rock that I used to cover my overflow, you could use pond foam and attach some sand and rubble rock on the over flow to make it look like a shelf.

Thats a good idea, I just don't feel like doing it haha.

I figured I'll just glue some caps or some neon green GSP to fill it in. Similar to how Noel had his 120g.

But front center will be my zoanthid garden for sure.

Unfortunately this update still won't have water inside the tank... but it does have LIGHTS (and housing for the lights)!!

Plumbing is 98% complete (just need a fitting or 2)

Electrical is 98% complete (need to adjust where the dimmer for LEDs will be)

Stand/Tank needs to be shimmed a bit to be leveled.

And lastly... some good old H2O!!!!

Bought 20LBS of Pukani and 10LBS of Fiji rock from Bulk Reef Supply, in addition to what I already have.

Bought Carib Sea - Sea Flor - Special Reef Grade Sand -- 40lbs

Need to buy some special blend (Amazon has a good deal right now believe it or not.)

And thats just about it! Picking out fishies... contemplating tangs...want a purple or a chevron really bad! :-\

Well thats it for now folks... hopefully in 2 years I'll have this thing filled up. Hahahaa :worried:
