Steve's 480g upgrade 730g total Zeovit system

New controller arrived today but i don't have the time to get it up and running. But i manage to hook up the ORP controller and calibrate the probe. My tank ORP look pretty low. It is around 265

In my experience, it may take 6-7 days for the ORP probe to start delivering accurate readings... you might look at re-calibrating before starting a dosing regimen...

My ORP probe (connected to an Apex) started reading in the 150 range... after a week, it was rock solid between 380-390. It was calibrated at the factory, so I didn't re-calibrate when I received it...

Just a thought.

I just calibrate the probe last night before use. I hope the number bumping up soon. It was 240 lastnight..

Good deal - so no apparent problem with the PX-1000. I wager it continues to rise until it gets to a steady number...

What is PX1000? I don't have one. I am using the Pintpoint ORP controller. The ACIII have not been up yet. I need to get all the timers enter the system.

It's still not determined if it is even needed to recalibrate ORP probes after factor calibration. The way they are calibrated would tend for me to believe it they can't be calibrated. An ORP probe is really a millivolt meter, measuring the voltage across a circuit formed by a reference electrode. There is really no calibration for potential difference.

For this reason most commercial user, use hand held probe. The reason for this is that over time an ORP probe with drift toward the lower end. More or less towards equilibrium with the solution there in. This is due to the way they are made (millivolt meter). Think of magnets... over time they become demagnetized. It no different for ORP probe. That one reason some feel that they can't be calibrated.

My guess is that you old probe did this and that is way the new probe reading is lower. Just a thought :D.

Brian, this is the first time i add the ORP probe into my system. The reason i calibrate the probe because that thought that is the right way to do :D

I don't think it would hurt... it just that it might not do any good. There is alot of debate on the topic. Feldman is one that doesn't believe in it, along with a few other zoo couriers.

My mistake. I thought I read on another thread that you were using a Neptune ORP probe connected to your controller through a PX-1000 module. Blame it on old age... :twitch:

Glad you're getting more reasonable readings... Give it a few more days, and eventually it will stabilize.

LL, I won't be able to have the time to get the Ozone up and running or see my ORP getting higher cuz i will be leaving for a long trip tomorrow. Hope i will have more time to get it done in December when i get back from this mission.

Not sure if i will be happy. According to a few members who has been to the site. They said there is nothing out there but jungle and farm not to mention this is raining season and it is pretty cold in the north...

Dude, bring back some Zoas. I heard Vietnam has some killer Zoas, and clams coming out :bounce3:

Don't forget the Mosquito repellant - they are huge there - B safe, Bro.. I donated lot of blood in China awhile back :lolspin:

Dennis

Dennis, thank you but i just got my orders cancelled because the mission has been change to another date. FWIW, i don't (NEVER) get bite by Mosquito because they do not like my blood...
