Stichodactyla helianthus Cloning??

awesome wered you find the green one at?

i had some tan ones years ago in a 75g with a single 6.5K MH over it, fed them suckers daily and had them split a few times had one stall like your and had to bust out the razor blade but its a slow process id give it more time before cutting them. i waited a month before i finally decided to give a helping hand.

they do take their time splitting. had one take 3 weeks to finish splitting.

all of them I've ever had were the same green color regardless of the lighting. I've currently got several and they are all under different lighting and all are the same color, even one in a frag tank with daylight PC lighting.

From the frag tank under 6500k daylight PC:

and my baby one (notice the size in comparison to the 2" silverside still hanging out his mouth) at the bottom of one of my 75s with 50/50 PC:

JetCat reference your nem, what temp do you keep your tank, do you have any clowns that host it (i've heard they are not a natural hosting nem) and has it eaten any of your fish yet?

the 90g with the cloner is at 79-80, all other tanks have chillers and are kept at 74. I've kept Atlantic carpets (Haddoni and Helianthus) for years and never had them eat a clown, i have lost a few not so smart damsels and a pepp shrimp once, although my current pepps try to take silversides away from the nems regularly and they'll quickly grab up the waste when the nem is trying to expel it. my Bangaii often brush up against the one in their tank and don't seam to be bothered by it at all. and let me get a few pics right quick and post them, you'll really love my purple tang and the nem in my 75 reef.

as for hosting in them, my Clarkii's and Maroon's love em, my Tomato has the attitude 'If it's not an E quad, it's not for me'. i don't keep nems in with my O's only their clay pot they spawn on.

EDIT:

the purple tang mentioned above.......

there is an opening in the rock behind the nem that the tang thinks is its personal path to behind the rocks although there are many many other openings, the tang has to turn sideways and drag its side across the nem to get into the spot and she goes in there, comes out the other side of the tank and then makes the block again constantly throughout the day passing by the nem at least a couple hundred times a day.

Very cool...congratulations!

I guess the amount of time it took this (these?) to split is an indicator as to why unnatural cutting is largely unsuccessful for anything but a BTA.
