Still having fun...300 gallon in wall reef

I currently have 3 large Tangs, 2 Genicanthus, 3 Wrasses, 3 Chromis, 15 Anthias, Copperband, Royal Gramma, lots of SPS, lots of Zoanthids, and a couple LPS. I'll add maybe 10 more Anthias with no problem. I'm having no problem maintaining 0-1 ppm NO3 and 0.02 PO4, while feading numerous times per day.

Wow, very nice. I like.

Do you have a male/female pair of the Genicanthus?

No, I have a female G. bellus and female G. melanospilus.

Oh, and a mated pair of Ocellaris clowns.

Mike - an OT question but what kind of rock is that? The terraces that you have are awesome and I would love to get something like that in my tank.

Awesome build too!

The three big rocks on the bottom are DIY aragocrete and most of the rest are shelf rock from Marco Rocks.

Hey Mike! Every thing about your tank looks amazing! Sorry I haven't been by to visit lately.

You're really going to get 10 more Anthias? Wow! That'll be cool!

BTW: thanks, again, for the help a while back.

Thanks and your welcome. I'm definitely adding some more squamipinnis and I really like the evansi.

Looks awesome Mike! Do you plan on letting it grow out for a long period of time.
Thanks dude, I'll let it grow to the point that the fish have to frag the corals to get swimming room!!!

BTW: Mike, would you please quantify the amount and type of feeding you do in a day? I'm always intrigued when you talk about your feeding habits. Thanks.

I feed Formula 1 and 2 flakes and Rod's Food sometime between 5:30am and 7am depending on my schedule that day. My Eheim auto feeder feeds a small amount of a mix of ORA small pellets and freeze dried Cyclopeze at 10am, Noon, 2pm, and 4pm. The food drops into a feeding ring, so it doesn't go into the overflow. I feed frozen PE Mysis and Formula 1 and 2 flakes at 6pm and small frozen mysis cubes and Rod's food at 8:45pm. Some evenings that I'm not home, the schedule changes but they always get lots of frozen in the evening. At the last feeding of the day, I put a whole sheet of Nori on the clip. I fold the Nori twice, so it's 1/4 of the original size, cut it into 1/4" wide strips, and then fold it over one more time and put it in the clip. That way when one of the fish grabs a piece of Nori, it only gets one strip and not a big piece, so there's almost no waste. I grow Aptasia on rocks in the sump for the CBB. I rotate the rocks from the sump to the display every other day to keep an Aptasia rock in the back of the tank for the CBB to eat. And everytime someone comes to see the tank the fish get bonus food.

Thanks for all the detail, Mike. Much appreciated. Gives me a good idea of how far I can go. ;)
You probably know this, but slowly increase feeding amount to where you want it, so your tank's bio-filtration can keep up.

Mike,

I am getting ready to set up my new tank with this design. How do you like it so far? Did you post any pics of this?

hey Mike,

I like that Nori trick so I will have to try that. I'm sick of the large pieces getting stuck in the TUNZE.
That's what got me to experimenting.
