Stream Rec's for a 135: 6095, 6125, 6105

Hi Roger & others! Looking for some advice as I re-think the flow on a 135g (6 foot x18"x24").

I was thinking of a pump on each end of the tank. Was considering a pair of 6125 Streams. Would that work? I know they are not controllable.... is that a bad thing, really? Also, does that model include the "wide" adapter?

Also considering a pair of 6095. They are smaller than the 6105/6125 models, which helps visuals, but would they have enough oomph? I think that comes in "wide" too... correct?

Also thought about a 6126 plus a controllable, just to alternate flow. Open to ideas. thx!!

The 6125 includes only one housing and it is the wide flow housing. The 6105 includes both. Since you seem to be focusing more on SPS, the 6105 is more versatile and likely the best suited. The 6095's would work but would be better suited to softies and LPS. The 6125 is essentially like a 6105 at full power and wide flow, the draw back being this could not be adjusted if needed.

P.S. I know the 6015 recently received a set of enhancements. So, my question: Was a new version of the 6125 also released, with similar enhancements?

No, the 6125 is a very basic non controllable pump, it comes standard with the wide flow housing 6205.130. It did get the fixed shaft and silence clamp, but those are the only changes and they applied to all Streams.

Is the silence clamp with one with the blue parts in front of the magnet? And is the fixed shaft mean that it has the "blue prop" vs. black, or does it mean something else?

You are correct on the clamp and all propellers have been blue since late 2010. In late 2011/early 2012 we transitioned to a shaft which is not removable and fixed in the back of the pump, this reduced noise.

Got the 6125 in the tank and WOW it has added a lot of flow! Unfortunately, only have a 6025 at the other end..... May put in a 6065 or a 6045 instead. thx!
